Oh Yosemite!

Oh Yosemite,

You’re elegant, you know.

Thank you Yosemite!

Bad poem, I know….but we are having a super time exploring this outstanding national treasure of a park and it put me in the mood to write a hokey poem.

Yosemitecamp

Our campsite at North Pines Campground.

There are no hookups, which keeps out the huge RV monoliths.  60-70% of the campers are here in tents.  Black bears roam the campground every night, and I’m just waiting for a panicked tent camper to wake me up in the middle of the night, pounding on our door to be let in.

The campground is full through the summer–Rob made our 3-night reservation within seconds of the sites opening up on the internet last winter.  He wasn’t able to get more than 3 nights because others somehow beat him to the reservation.  Whew.  I’m happy to be here, though.  This park is a true treasure.

We leave early tomorrow morning for a long trek through Nevada and the tip of Arizona, on our way to Zion National Park.

“Hey YOU!  Take my picture, OK?”
